Dees Lake, British Columbia, January. 09, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tahltan Nation Development Corporation (TNDC) is proud to announce that it has received a Certificate of Accreditation (COR) from WorkSafeBC, confirming its commitment to workplace safety and maintaining a progressive safety culture.

COR is a voluntary employer certification program designed to encourage employers to take an active role in workplace health and safety. The COR program recognizes and rewards employers who exceed applicable legal requirements, implement an effective health and safety management system (OHSMS), and undergo a certification audit in accordance with standards set by the WorkSafeBC Council.

Over the past 18 months, TNDC has aligned its health and safety practices, processes and procedures with the 14 elements of COR established by the BC Construction Safety Alliance, WorkSafeBC's certification partner. Certification is carried out by independent external auditors using three verification methods: documentation, observation and survey. The TNDC COR health and safety audit will take place in October 2023.
