Starfield's main quest will take players to many different star systems, but that's only the surface of what can be done in the game. While Starfield does its best to accommodate players, there are some things it doesn't tell you.

10 medicine and treatment

In Starfield, you cheat on both your health and the various status effects that can be applied to your character. A visit to the doctor can be an easy way to treat any ailment and regain lost health. When you go exploring, it's important to stock up on healing items for worst-case scenarios. So instead of using your stuff, visit the doctor regularly.

Your ship often suffers hull damage that can only be fixed by repairing it. Ship parts are consumables that you can use to repair your ship, but they're a little harder to find than you might think. Return to the main cities regularly and visit the ship's maintenance technician to repair your ship and keep its parts ready for battle.

9 Protect your credit

Everything in the galaxy costs credits, and some of the best and coolest ships are very expensive at over 200,000 credits. Since some of the higher tier items are very expensive, it's important to find ways to save credits while earning new ones.

Mining skill will help you find more credits randomly and you should invest early. As you explore the Starfield worlds, be sure to collect loot, return to town and sell it. You'll always find new weapons and powerful equipment as you explore, so sometimes it makes sense to ignore the high vendor prices and rely on the mountains of loot you'll find throughout the galaxy.

8 Save the game

Starfield offers several ways to save your game: regular save, auto save, and quick save. While the game autosaves for you in many ways, it's not a perfect system, and some parts of the game will require you to save frequently to maintain progress.

If you die, you will go back to your last save. So always quick save to make sure the next checkpoint isn't too long. You can also go into the game settings menu and set how often the game autosaves.

7 Sleep regularly

Naps are an easy way to pass the time and have the added benefit of a good night's sleep. When you sleep, you wake up feeling "well rested", which increases all experience gained for the next 25 minutes, as well as restoring any status effects you may have had the previous day.

Your ship is equipped with a bed so you can sleep comfortably when you board to ensure the XP bonus is always in effect. There is also no specific amount of sleep required to receive the sleep benefits, as players only receive the full bonuses for one hour.

6 Do everything

The galaxy is filled with space stations, outposts, various cave systems and much more for players to explore. Almost every location in the game has some form of loot, whether it's mining for new resources or checking out dozens of containers at an outpost.

Even if you find things you don't need, it's best to take them to town to sell on credit. Also among the dead enemies you can find powerful equipment and weapons that will expand your arsenal for free.

5 Do some basic searches

Starfield's main story isn't something that players have to contend with. Once they find their ship and are set free to explore the galaxy, hundreds of hours of content doesn't even match the main story.

Additionally, the main story contains some secret and unique gameplay mechanics that are only unlocked after completing the main story missions. Even if you don't want to get too invested in the main story, it's best to complete some early missions to gain access to these unique mechanics and use them in the game.

4 Upgrade your ship

Your ship is the source of your ability to explore the galaxy. Space is vast and full of pirates and evil factions looking for an opportunity to destroy your ship and send you into space. Players can upgrade their ships in a variety of ways while also acquiring brand new ships.

Ship customization in Starfield is extensive, giving players a lot of freedom in how their ship is designed and how it performs. Be sure to buy better ships or upgrade different parts of your ship to make sure you can handle anything the galaxy throws at you.

3 servants and staff

Companions will accompany you as you progress through various main story arcs, many of which are drawn from the Inferno collection around which the main story is centered. Crew members can also be hired from a local bar, crew and butlers will be able to serve on board your ship.

If you have crew members or companions on your ship, you will receive various bonuses during the flight, such as: B. Better maneuverability or greater capacity in a particular system. Companions can also follow you outside the ship and provide you with additional weapons as you explore the galaxy.

2 Improve your skill rating

Starfield features five unique skill trees, each with many different abilities to unlock and upgrade. To gain higher level skills, you must invest a certain amount of points into a specific skill tree to access the next skill level.

While learning new skills usually seems like the best way to go, players can use skill points to improve skills they've already unlocked. Leveling up unlocked skills will make them much more effective and also give you access to new abilities for that skill. As you play, don't forget to see what tasks you need to complete to unlock the next skill level.

1 Explore the galaxy

Starfield is an exploration. While multiple questlines and stories help you experience certain parts of the game, the real draw is the vastness of the galaxy and the ability to explore it at will.

Traveling to new areas and exploring the surface of different planets, players will encounter a variety of unique situations while seeing new locations and finding plenty of loot to help them on their way. While there are some resource management issues here and there, few players stop to look at a distant star on the star map and see what's there.
