Guest Editorial: Stealth, Health And Black Wealth
Recently, the US in general, and black people in particular, were shocked when affirmative action was forced to dust off by SCOTUS. It's a sad state of affairs when you consider that this strategy is necessary to level the playing field for deserving people who would otherwise be left out if it wasn't in place. Under current circumstances, this could certainly lead to a decline in the number of African Americans with higher education.
A possible decline in the number of blacks with access to higher education could harm the economic well-being of already struggling black communities. The college admissions process is expensive and stressful. It is well known that stressors, i.e., problems that cause problems to the health and well-being of the individual, will add to the other problems facing the Negro community. Stress affects your health!
Along with positive SCOTUS decisions, pressures from political intrigue can further undermine community health. The community suffered years of oppression due to white supremacy. These new attacks on the rights of blacks (and others) will be another obstacle for society to overcome.
This problem is more serious than it seems. Now the country (and the whole world) is going through a health crisis. The Covid pandemic has shaken the health conscience of Americans and many lives have been lost.
Another concern that climate change may cause is that air quality in some American cities is exacerbating health problems for city dwellers due to large wildfires in Canada. This, along with our society's problem with ozone and other toxins, is making the health of all Americans worse!
It has become abundantly clear that many other dangerous elements are persecuting citizens for the actions of corporate America. It is clear that corporate America is making the citizens sick. It has become clear that the main reason for many pollution incidents that cause disease is the pursuit of economic profit.
The strategy is: "Let's make as much money as possible from what we know is a harmful product, and if we get caught, we may have to endure a lawsuit, but we'll take the risk." Now we know that some companies can do it.
Logic dictates that the community problems that affect us should have more to do with reducing the stress that Americans experience, since many health problems ultimately stem from corporate covert attacks based on the economy. But no, it doesn't seem to be on the agenda.
Another cause of black stress is popular culture, which regularly produces and tolerates music so toxic that it has created an "art imitating life" situation.
Music misogyny has divided the black community such that more than 70 percent of black children are raised in single-parent households, and more rappers have been killed than any other contemporary musician.
While this may seem like bad luck, it can also mean opportunity.
Black people have survived slavery, Jim Crow, and more, but in every challenge, blacks win. Although African Americans were denied access in the past, they were early powerhouses in many fields. Add to that the increased awareness resulting from the discovery of true black influence throughout the ancient and modern world, and a fascinating picture emerges.
The influence of our society is felt everywhere! Indeed, repression has a positive effect if it manages to ignore the challenges that society has traditionally faced. The black community has skills, money, and other important resources that can act as an economic engine for the entire community.
The only downside to this is that blacks hate each other. Currently, most unhealthy Americans lean toward the more right-wing Republican Party due to its share of growing wealth and economic depression.
If we can work together, stress in our society will be greatly reduced and resources will be increased; A united community will be a great enemy to any group that is hostile to society. If the details are worked out, Black communities can reduce stress and improve health and well-being. Time to save yourself! Luta Keep going.
