Streaming for hours can still take a physical toll on popular platforms like Twitch and Kick, and xQc says he's ignored the serious problem for too long and plans to eventually see a doctor. The former Overwatch professor is among the top streamers on any platform, easily surpassing the audiences of other popular streamers like HasanAbi, Mizkif, and Valkyrae. However, she admits her lifestyle hasn't helped her physical health and she opened up to viewers about her latest issue during a recent broadcast.

While Felix "xQc" Lengyel has been streaming since 2014, he switched to Twitch full-time around 2020 after retiring from the professional Overwatch scene. He quickly established himself as one of the biggest streamers on Twitch, with streams reaching over 100,000 viewers, making him one of the highest paid streamers on the platform. In June 2023, xQc announced that it had signed a two-year deal worth $100 million to play on the new Stake-backed Kick platform.

In one of his recent xQc streams, he shared that he had been suffering from shoulder problems for a long time and had been putting off seeing a doctor. He described the problem as feeling like his shoulder had slipped out of place when he was slowly resting and it would "stick" when he stretched or moved, although he said it hurt when he "squeezed" the socket. He then said in his chat that he is "taking a break" and will be seeing a doctor soon, meaning he will most likely be taking a break from broadcasting.

This wasn't the first time xQc suffered from some kind of physical ailment, as one of his worst episodes would come after TwitchCon in October 2022. Strayer had to be taken to the hospital after he bled from both ears due to a serious double ear infection. As with the shoulder problem, he admitted he wasn't feeling well in the days leading up to the episode, but postponed a trip to the hospital to continue the broadcast.

Broadcasters suffering from physical or mental health problems are not uncommon, and studies from various institutes, including the National Institutes of Health, have shown that broadcasting for long periods of time can lead to burnout, anxiety, sleep disturbances and even blood clots. Popular streamer Pokimane is a streamer who suffers from fatigue. In recent years, it has been ordered to take longer breaks and reduce its broadcast schedule.
