Health Card Plus Program Restored In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa After 2 Billion Rupees Released

(MENAF - STAM NEWS NETWORK) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's caretaker government recently paid State Life 2 billion rupees, enabling it to restore free healthcare benefits through the Health Card Plus scheme.

The health advisor Dr. Abid Jameel announced that the government would release another 2 billion Tk shortly after Eid. according to dr Abid Jamil, health care for the population is a priority for the current interim government.

The program has been temporarily suspended due to late payments to insurers. The Health Card Plus program was reinstated on the special orders of the incumbent Prime Minister, Muhammad Azam Khan.

In a news conference, the health adviser said the state owes the federal government Rs 238 billion and has created economic problems after individual benefits under the Health Card Plus scheme were suspended. The incumbent prime minister has continuously raised the issue with the federal government.

Dr. Abid Jamil confirmed that the current interim government has no intention of ending the health card program. Instead, they aim to increase the transparency of the programs in order to provide optimal health benefits to the population.

Dr. Abid Jameel emphasized that it is not possible to offer 100% free services to the entire population of the province. He suggested that the program be limited to the deserving population rather than the general population to alleviate the province's economic woes.

He said that 66% of the Health Card Plus program is provided by private hospitals and 34% by public hospitals. Former government.

The health adviser said the caretaker government is considering taking specific steps to ensure transparency of the scheme, including identifying which hospitals are eligible for the Health Card Plus scheme and which are not.
