Health Is Wealth: Change Your Lifestyle, Change Your Life

I'm going to be really cliche here, but as the old saying goes, health is wealth. If you don't take care of yourself and live a healthy lifestyle, your ability to pursue what you want and see everything on your wish list is very limited.

Many young people and young professionals think that it's too much time, we are invincible. However, until you come in close contact with health issues, you don't realize that life is short and you have less time than you think. The body is amazing in its healing power, but you have to think like a machine. Any abandoned vehicles will stop working.

The healthier you are, the richer you are. You live longer, you have more energy, and you have a physical reserve, which means you recover faster when you get sick. In addition, you retain your memory better and enjoy what is most important to you.

So here I want to discuss adopting a healthy lifestyle and empowering yourself in all aspects of your health…not just physically, but mentally and emotionally so that you can accumulate wealth in your lifestyle.

Set healthy lifestyle goals

First, you need to understand that health is wealth. Take care of you. If you don't prioritize yourself and your health, you'll have a hard time completing it. So wherever you are in life, find a place where you're ready and willing to make healthy living a priority and a habit, not something you do on weekends or holidays.

Once you get into that mindset, start setting your goals.

What do you want to achieve with a healthy lifestyle? It has different meanings for everyone. For example, when it comes to fitness, some people want to move and be active. Others prefer to focus on weight loss. Others want more clarity.

What about mental health? What is your goal there? Mental health? Spiritual health? Social health?

Every part of life deserves attention, care and balance. But first, you need to determine what each of these areas mean to you and how you want each to look.

Health is wealth in all its parts

General health needs to be monitored. Caring for just one part or perspective won't cut it. Being healthy and mentally disturbed does not make you healthy. Poor nutrition and feeling isolated from friends and colleagues can lead to depression.

Taking care of your health requires taking care of all its parts.

physical health

Physical health includes diet and exercise, as well as relaxation and rest. Between workouts, you should rest, stretch, and allow your muscles to recover.

People's physical activity levels vary, so how you stay active is up to you. Some ideas to get you started:

I would also say that the diet you choose should be sustainable and not leave you feeling deprived; Diets that deprive you ultimately fail because we end up satisfying our cravings.

Also, a rough day or a day where you don't feel like exercising or eating healthy doesn't mean your fitness and health go out the window. Chances are if you hit your target; Don't let a bad day lead to a bad week. Instead, start the next day with exercise and mindful eating. As long as you move forward and keep moving forward, you will achieve your goals.

Psychological health

  • Meditation : Give yourself a quiet mental space to organize your thoughts and change your focus so you can deal with them effectively.
  • Take regular breaks to recharge. Stress and De-Stress If you don't breathe regularly to de-stress, you'll burn out.
  • Prioritize your sleep : Stick to a regular schedule and develop good sleep habits.

Spiritual health

For those who are religious or follow any religion: Do you make time for your faith? Sometimes prayer and meditative meditation and cleansing practices can be very cleansing.

For the non-religious, I would suggest interpreting spiritual well-being as better self-knowledge and understanding of one's soul. With time life changes and with time we realize that we too have changed. Check in with yourself every now and then and make sure that what you do on a regular basis is in line with who you are and who you are becoming.

Social health

Maintaining a social life is important. Work-life balance is key to feeling in control and truly living our lives. As we all know, life is short and unpredictable. We have to make the most of our time and opportunities.

I encourage you to understand that not all friendships are beneficial. Part of taking care of your social health is making sure that the people you spend time with are people who bring you satisfaction and support.

So with that in mind

  • Are you enjoying your day?
  • Do you take advantage of the social opportunities that come your way with people who really make you happy?
  • Do you fill your free time with unique experiences that educate and satisfy you?
  • And most importantly, do you allocate time and prioritize communication?

It's hard when you're physically and mentally exhausted from work, but sometimes spending time with friends and family can help you get off your mind, be yourself, laugh and have fun, and de-stress and relax.

If you've moved a lot for work and education, it can be very difficult to find friends you can trust and be yourself in a new city. Keep trying on that front, and in the meantime, use all the great tools we have to keep in touch long distance: Facetime, Zoom, WhatsApp, etc.

Start your health goals

You've made a list of your goals, thought of a few things on that to-do list, and now you need to get started.

First, visit your primary care physician . If not, choose treatment. Build relationships to have someone to call when questions arise. Do the lab work, run the recommended tests and check that everything is in order.

It probably is, but it's often not clear what hurts us the most. That is hidden. High cholesterol, high blood sugar, weight loss that stresses our organs and untreated high blood pressure.

These are real problems that need real intervention before they turn into something more serious, like heart disease. Most of these can be treated without medication. For this, however, it is necessary to know whether there is a problem.

Use the buddy system

Find a friend, group of friends, or family with similar goals or a common goal of getting healthy. Do it together and hold each other accountable.

We often do best when we are together. Plan physical or social activities together, trust each other, cook healthy meals and see how much progress you've made!

Consider paying for it

For some, the only way to motivate them is to throw in a little cash. Pay for healthy food delivery, hire a caterer or buy the equipment you need.

The power is in your hands

Sometimes involving yourself in a situation gives you no choice but to choose a healthy path. For example, save a month by not spending on ready meals and buying only healthy ingredients and snacks. If you only have healthy options, you will make the right choice.

I suggest you do some prep work before going this route. Find recipes you like and start buying ingredients for them. And the more you do it, the easier it gets.

Choose water

Limit or eliminate alcoholic and sugary drinks and reduce caffeine intake. The first two factors will significantly reduce your calorie intake, and cutting back on caffeine will help you sleep better.

Instead, focus on hydration and staying hydrated. Nothing will replace the stuff and your body will thank you.

Accept the award

The more committed you are to taking care of your health, the more you will reap the benefits.

Exercise helps reduce or delay the onset of chronic diseases and reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease. A healthy diet that includes fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean protein can reduce inflammation and treat or reduce chronic pain.

A good night's sleep can reduce stress, improve concentration and increase productivity. Taking a vacation or relaxing and spending time with friends and family can make you feel fulfilled. Improving your spiritual and mental health can help you focus, be more attentive (greater stress reduction) and improve your mood.

Health and wellness

The best way to empower yourself is to take care of yourself… yourself. When you're healthy in every way, you're in a place where you can try new things, take risks, and reach your true potential.

Take advantage of the opportunities and resources you have and prioritize your health: physical, mental, spiritual, social and more. Once you get a loan, you will be able to do whatever you want and maintain the lifestyle you want.
