Big Health Goals Begin With Easy, Accessible, And Attainable Wellness

The last quarter of 2023 was full and exciting. It has been full of business trips, client meetings, product launches, festivals and tight deadlines. With Christmas officially underway, a lingering cold spell has ruined all plans to celebrate the holidays and catch up with loved ones. Between travel, work meetings, long Zoom calls and long days of commuting, the healthy habits we've developed over the years have fallen by the wayside. Well-being-enhancing rituals have almost certainly been replaced by early morning rushes, unhealthy meals and too much screen time.

As I slowly eased back into my healthy routine, I felt guilty and frustrated that I had to start all over again. Trying to cope with the constant emails and texts, I let my circadian rhythm speed up, staying in front of the screen until the wee hours of the morning. A nutritious diet of mostly fresh foods has been replaced by fast food or processed junk food. Many mornings I have woken up late and in a hurry, and have had little time to meditate and practice. Luckily, I was able to shut up for a few minutes on the way to the next meeting. By the end of November, my body was recovering from the flu. My skin was dry, cracked and dull. My energy levels were extremely low, which further affected my mood, focus, and overall health.

At the same time, I had the opportunity to speak with Stephanie Zuberi, author, host and founder of the newly launched Soul Holidays wellness program. His journey easily resonates with many audiences. "I think you have to find what works to create healthy habits," says Zubairy. While ancient philosophies and schools of thought about health and nutrition underlie our unique practices, there is no single formula or template for finding your balance or happiness. "When I started the podcast, my goal was to connect with people from all walks of life, learn their wisdom and understand how we can apply it to our everyday lives," he recalls.
