PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa caretaker chief minister Mohammad Azam Khan on Thursday said his government is facing difficulties in clearing the state-run life insurance company's dues for the card health insurance scheme due to delays in fund allocation. by the federal government.

Participants discussed issues related to the implementation of reforms approved by the provincial cabinet regarding sustainable management of the health insurance system and payment of contributions to implementing partners, including the National Life Insurance Company.

"At the meeting, it was agreed that in the future payments would be made monthly to the state life insurance company," the statement said, adding that emergency operations under the health card program would not be suspended "under any circumstances." circumstances". .

The Prime Minister called on the authorities to ensure that the recently adopted health reforms are implemented as quickly as possible.

He said his government was committed to managing the health card program in a sustainable manner and taking concrete measures in this regard.

Khan said that despite the financial problems, the interim government's top priority is to continue providing free health services to the public under the health card programme.

He said the government was doing everything possible to make the health insurance system more pro-poor and more sustainable.

The Prime Minister said that healthcare reform must provide maximum help to disadvantaged groups in society.
