MVP Health Care And Age Well Partner To Offer Older Adults Free Access To Striders Walking Club

SOUTH BURLINGTON, VT – March 28, 2023 – MVP Healthcare and Age Well today announced a first-of-its-kind partnership for a healthcare program for Vermont's seniors called Striders. Led by a certified fitness instructor, the program takes place on the University Mall and is designed to promote health and wellness by getting participants moving, connecting with others, and improving their overall health.

As an MVP Strider, participants perform strength and balance exercises, participate in a self-guided walking group, and learn new ways to improve their mobility. Participants will receive an MVP Striders Walk Kit, which includes a pedometer, small first aid kit, t-shirt and more.

" Investing in unique healthcare options outside of the traditional doctor's office provides exciting new opportunities for members of our community to improve their overall lifestyle," said Chris Del Vecchio, president and CEO of MVP Health. "Providing Vermonters with our Strider Walking Club further strengthens our commitment to overall physical, social and emotional health and wellness. We are proud to partner with Age Well to offer this unique program, continuing our long-standing commitment to building healthy communities."

The MVP Striders Walking Club is the first to be offered in Vermont and builds on the successful launch of the MVP program in New York State and the continued investment in New York State and Edgewell to provide services and programs for seniors that meet their unique needs.

"We are excited to partner with MVP Health Care to provide an evidence-based walking program that allows Vermont's seniors to improve themselves, connect with others, and have something to be passionate about," said Wells Senior Christine Moldovan. Director of Food and Health Department.

The MVP Striders Walking Club will be held on Wednesdays from 9:00 am to 10:00 am from April 26 to June 14 at the University Mall (155 Dorset Street, South Burlington) . Participants should meet on the center court mat next to the Sears Antiques store and enter next to the LensCrafters® shoe department.

Although the walking club is aimed at seniors over 60, anyone can join. Registration is now open and those interested can register at www.mvphealthcare.com/calendar .
